Treasures of Aztec rules in numbers: the cascade multiplier, 2,025–32,400 ways and the 0.56% free spins rate
Published — UTC

Short answer — Treasures of Aztec is a PG SOFT cascading-reels slot with 6 reels and between 2,025 and 32,400 ways to win. Its official game information sheet puts the RTP at 96.71%, of which 69.59% comes from the main game and 27.12% from free spins. Free spins start on only 0.56% of spins — about one in 179 — so more than a quarter of the long-run return sits in a feature that, by our calculation, is still missing after 100 spins in 57% of cases. The game's distinctive rule is the win multiplier: in the main game it starts at x1 on every spin and rises by 1 after each winning cascade; in free spins it starts at x2 and rises by 2. A win on the fifth cascade of a main-game spin is therefore paid five times, but only if four wins came before it.
This SlotVIP guide reads the provider's sheet line by line, turns its percentages into spin counts and worked peso examples, and marks clearly which numbers come from PG SOFT and which are our own calculations. It is not a recommendation to play. Peso amounts are hypothetical and do not reflect the bet limits of any platform. Sources were checked on 15 October 2026.
The official sheet and what it says
All rule and percentage figures below come from PG SOFT's Treasures of Aztec game information sheet (version 1.0 r945, "Latest Update 08/07/2025"). We read it through the Internet Archive's copy of the file on pgsoft.com, because PG SOFT's server blocks downloads from our region.

Where the 96.71% comes from
PG SOFT publishes both the RTP and the hit rate of each part of the game. Dividing one by the other gives the average payout each time that part of the game delivers (our calculation, in multiples of the total bet):

| Part of the game | RTP share | Hit rate | Average payout per hit (calculated) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main game | 69.59% | 28.51% (about 1 in 3.5 spins) | ≈ 2.44x |
| Free spins feature | 27.12% | 0.56% (about 1 in 179 spins) | ≈ 48.4x per trigger |
Free spins carry 28.0% of the total return (27.12 ÷ 96.71). Over any short session the main game is what you actually experience, and over the long run it returns roughly 70 centavos per peso staked; the remainder depends on reaching a feature that arrives on average once in 179 spins. The averages are pulled upward by rare large results, so a typical free spins round pays less than 48x.
How many spins until free spins?
With an independent 0.56% chance on each spin, the probability of at least one trigger in n spins is 1 − (1 − 0.0056)n (our calculation):
| Spins | At least one trigger | No trigger |
|---|---|---|
| 50 | 24.5% | 75.5% |
| 100 | 43.0% | 57.0% |
| 124 | 50.2% | 49.8% |
| 200 | 67.5% | 32.5% |
| 300 | 81.5% | 18.5% |
| 500 | 94.0% | 6.0% |
It takes about 124 spins to reach even odds of a single trigger. A session of 200 spins without free spins happens about one time in three; it is not a sign that the feature is "due".
The cascade multiplier, step by step
After every win the winning symbols explode, new symbols fall into place and the game checks for another win. The sheet sets two different ladders on these cascades:
- Main game: "At the start of any main game spin, the win multiplier is x1." After each round with a win, once new symbols have cascaded down, the multiplier increases by 1. The first win of a spin is paid at x1, the second at x2, the third at x3, and so on. The next spin starts again at x1.
- Free spins: "At the start of the Free Spins Feature, the win multiplier is x2," and it increases by 2 after each winning round. Unlike the main-game rule, the sheet does not say that the multiplier resets at the start of each free spin. Read literally, it keeps climbing across the whole feature. We could not test this in the official demo, so check the in-game rules screen before relying on it.
Hypothetical example, main game, ₱20 bet. One spin produces three consecutive wins that would be worth ₱8, ₱6 and ₱12 before any multiplier. They are paid ₱8 × 1 + ₱6 × 2 + ₱12 × 3 = ₱56, against ₱26 without the ladder. The spin still started with a ₱20 stake, so the net result is +₱36. If the chain had stopped after the first win, the result would have been ₱8 back from ₱20, a ₱12 loss. Most of the extra value from the ladder comes from long cascade chains, which are uncommon.
Hypothetical example, free spins. The first free spin wins twice: ₱10 at x2 and then ₱6 at x4, paying ₱44. Under the literal reading of the sheet, the next winning free spin starts at x6, so a ₱10 win there pays ₱60. If your platform's version resets the multiplier on each free spin, the same win would pay ₱20 instead. That difference is why the rule is worth checking on the game's own information screen.
Why the number of ways changes from spin to spin
Symbols on reels 2 to 5 can occupy two to four positions, and each of these large symbols counts as a single symbol when wins are calculated. The number of ways is the product of the number of symbols visible on each reel. The sheet only gives the range, 2,025 to 32,400; the following reconstruction is ours, and it reproduces both ends exactly:
- Reels 1 and 6 always show 5 symbols.
- Reels 2–5 each show between 2 and 5 symbols in the main area, depending on how many large symbols land, plus 1 symbol on the extra top reel, for 3 to 6 symbols in total.
- Minimum: 5 × 3 × 3 × 3 × 3 × 5 = 2,025 ways. Maximum: 5 × 6 × 6 × 6 × 6 × 5 = 32,400 ways.
The sheet's own example shows the calculation: one matching symbol on reel 1, two on reel 2, three on reel 3 and one on reel 4 gives 1 × 2 × 3 × 1 = 6 winning ways, and the symbol's 4-of-a-kind payout is multiplied by the number of ways (40 × 6 = 240 in the sheet's example). We do not convert the paytable into multiples of the bet, because the sheet does not state the bet at which its "cash" values are displayed.
Silver frames, gold frames and Wilds-on-the-Way
On reels 2–5, some large symbols may appear with a silver frame. According to the sheet, if a silver-framed symbol is part of a win, after the cascade it turns into a randomly chosen symbol with a gold frame. If a gold-framed symbol is then part of a win, after the next cascade it becomes a Wild. A silver frame therefore has to be part of two consecutive wins before it becomes a Wild, and by then the multiplier has already risen. Wilds substitute for every symbol except the Scatter and appear only on reels 2–5.
100,000x advertised, 9,071x in a billion simulated spins
The sheet lists two different "maximum" figures. "Max Win (Advertised Value)" is 100,000x the bet. "Max Exposure (Simulated in 1 Billion Spins)" is 9,071x. Our reading is that 100,000x is the cap built into the game, while 9,071x was the largest result PG SOFT's own billion-spin simulation produced. PG SOFT does not explain the two labels further, so this is an interpretation. Even so, the practical conclusion is the same: the headline figure was not reached once in a billion simulated spins, and no player should plan around it. For a sense of scale, the Big, Mega and Super Mega Win frequencies on the same sheet add up to a win of 20x or more about once every 214 spins (our calculation).
Verified, calculated and not verified
Verified from the PG SOFT sheet: layout and ways range, RTP and its split, hit rates, session volatility, Big/Mega/Super Mega frequencies, both maximum figures, bet sizes and levels, free spins and Feature Buy rules, multiplier rules, frame and Wild transformations, and the ways calculation example.
Calculated by SlotVIP: average payout per hit, the free spins share of RTP, trigger probabilities, the ways reconstruction, the 20x-plus frequency and the peso examples.
Not verified: whether the free spins multiplier resets between free spins on any particular platform; the Feature Buy price and its RTP; the RTP configuration offered by real-money platforms in the Philippines; peso bet limits. We did not play Treasures of Aztec with real money, and PG SOFT's demo was not reachable from our region.
Before you play
Each spin and each cascade is random. A long chain on one spin says nothing about the next, and a long run without free spins does not bring them closer. Set a budget and a time limit before you start, and treat the money as the cost of entertainment. In the Philippines, gaming is for adults aged 21 and over, and you should only use platforms that are legally permitted to serve you.
