Rat Royale by Pragmatic Play: 500x rat king wilds, 96.52% RTP and what is confirmed

Short answer — Pragmatic Play's new slot Rat Royale was released on 22 October 2026, according to UK launch coverage, and its official game page lists an RTP of 96.52%. That page confirms standard wilds with multipliers of up to 100x, rat king wilds of up to 500x on the centre reel, and 10 free spins from 3 to 5 scatters. The 5x5 grid, 259 ways, medium volatility and 15,000x maximum win are reported by third-party sites, not printed on Pragmatic's page. If the 15,000x figure is correct, a ₱10 spin could pay at most ₱150,000, by our calculation; 100 spins at ₱10 put ₱1,000 through the game, with an average return-to-player cost of ₱34.80 at 96.52%.
Rat Royale is the latest of Pragmatic Play's darker-themed slots, and it lands one week before Halloween. Filipino players will see it described in many places with slightly different numbers. This guide separates what Pragmatic itself publishes from what review and news sites add, explains how the wild multipliers combine, and turns the RTP into peso costs you can check yourself.
What did Pragmatic Play release, and when?
The official Rat Royale page on pragmaticplay.com carries the tagline "Scurry into the shadows in Rat Royale", a playable demo and a Basic Game Info box that shows one figure: RTP 96.52%. The page's structured data gives a first publication time of 14 October 2026 and a last update of 20 October 2026. We read it on 24 October 2026.
The release date comes from coverage, not from Pragmatic. OLBG reported on 22 October 2026 that the game was "released today" at UK slot sites, and RG.org reported on 23 October 2026 that Pragmatic released it on Thursday, 22 October. We checked the English news section of Pragmatic's sitemap on 24 October and found no press release for Rat Royale at that time, so there is no official launch statement to quote.
Nothing on the official page names an operator or a market. We have not verified that any platform serving the Philippines offers Rat Royale, so treat any "play it here" claim as unconfirmed until you see the game in a licensed lobby.
How do the wilds and rat king wilds work?
The official description is short but precise. In both the base game and the bonus game:
- Standard wilds "can land carrying multipliers of up to 100x".
- Rat king wilds can land only on the centre reel, carrying multipliers of up to 500x.
- Several multipliers in one win are summed: "If more than one wild multiplier forms part of the same winning combination, their sum boosts the total win."
- Every rat king wild triggers a modifier for that spin. The page lists the options as expanding to fill the reel, collecting standard wild multipliers on screen, increasing their values, or transforming blue paying symbols into standard wild multipliers.
The word "sum" matters. Two wilds marked 3x and 10x in the same winning combination give a 13x boost, not 30x. On a combination that would pay ₱5 without wilds, that reading gives ₱65, our calculation. The page does not say whether the combined multiplier applies separately to each way the wilds take part in, so treat our example as an illustration of the adding rule, not a payout table.
OLBG adds detail the official page does not give: it says there are four rat king wilds marked by red, purple, green and blue gems, each with its own function. That is consistent with the four modifiers Pragmatic lists, but the colour-to-modifier pairing is OLBG's description.
What are the three free spins modes?
According to the official page, landing 3, 4 or 5 scatters triggers one of three bonus variants, each awarding 10 initial free spins:
| Scatters | Variant | Initial spins | What changes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | Blood Ritual | 10 | All multiplier wilds that land are worth at least 2x; rat king wilds hit more frequently |
| 4 | Blood Pact | 10 | A rat king wild is sticky on the centre position for the whole feature; its multiplier is progressive |
| 5 | Blood Lust / "Blood Bust" | 10 | An expanded rat king wild is sticky on the centre reel for the feature, also with a progressive multiplier |
The official page is inconsistent about the third name: the description calls it "Blood Lust", while the "What to expect" list says "Blood Bust". OLBG uses Blood Lust. We use both names until Pragmatic corrects one. OLBG also reports that 3 or more scatters during free spins add 5 more spins, with no limit on retriggers; that rule is not on the official page.
Which figures are official and which come from coverage?
This is the part most write-ups blur. The table lists every specification we found and where it comes from.
| Item | Figure | Official page | Reported by |
|---|---|---|---|
| RTP | 96.52% | Yes | OLBG, RG.org |
| Standard wild multiplier | Up to 100x | Yes | OLBG, RG.org |
| Rat king wild multiplier | Up to 500x, centre reel | Yes | OLBG, RG.org |
| Free spins | 10 from 3, 4 or 5 scatters | Yes | OLBG, RG.org |
| Grid and ways | 5x5, 259 ways | Not stated | OLBG, RG.org |
| Maximum win | 15,000x the bet | Not stated | OLBG, RG.org |
| Volatility | Medium | Not stated | OLBG, RG.org |
| Hit frequency | 24.39% | Not stated | OLBG, RG.org |
| Lower RTP versions | 95.50% and 94.53% | Not stated | RG.org ("reviews also list") |
| Ante bet / bonus buy | "priced at 100x and 500x the bet" | Not stated | RG.org |
| Release date | 22 October 2026 | Not stated | OLBG, RG.org |
Two independent reports agreeing on a number makes it likely, not confirmed. RG.org itself says the specifications "come from Pragmatic Play and launch coverage". The safest place to confirm the grid, maximum win and your casino's RTP setting is the game's own information screen once you open it.
What does Rat Royale cost to play in pesos?
RTP is a long-run average over a huge number of spins. The house's share is 100% minus RTP, and multiplying that by your total stake gives the average cost of play. It says nothing about any single session, where results swing widely. Because RG.org reports that versions at 95.50% and 94.53% also exist, we show all three, our calculation:
| RTP version | House share | 100 spins (₱1,000 staked) | 1,000 spins (₱10,000 staked) | 10,000 spins (₱100,000 staked) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 96.52% (official page) | 3.48% | ₱34.80 | ₱348 | ₱3,480 |
| 95.50% (reported) | 4.50% | ₱45.00 | ₱450 | ₱4,500 |
| 94.53% (reported) | 5.47% | ₱54.70 | ₱547 | ₱5,470 |

The gap between the highest and lowest version is ₱199 per 1,000 spins at ₱10, or 57% more cost at 94.53% than at 96.52%, by our calculation. That is why checking the RTP shown in the game's information screen matters more than the headline figure in any article.
The reported hit frequency of 24.39% means roughly one winning spin in every 4.1 spins on average, or about 24 winning spins per 100, our calculation. Many of those wins return less than the stake, so a "win" is not the same as a profit.
What does 15,000x mean on a peso bet?
If the reported 15,000x cap is correct and applies to the total bet, the ceiling on a single spin is easy to work out, our calculation:
- ₱1 bet: up to ₱15,000
- ₱10 bet: up to ₱150,000
- ₱50 bet: up to ₱750,000
A cap is a ceiling, not a forecast. Neither Pragmatic nor the reviews give the probability of reaching it. Separately, RG.org reports ante bet and bonus buy options "priced at 100x and 500x the bet". At ₱10, 100x is ₱1,000 and 500x is ₱5,000 for one purchase, our calculation. Whether these options appear depends on the market and operator, and we have not seen them confirmed for the Philippines.
How does it compare with Pragmatic's earlier dark-themed slot?
OLBG places Rat Royale alongside Pragmatic's earlier dark titles, including Sanatorium Secrets. Comparing the two official pages shows how much larger Rat Royale's multipliers are on paper:
| Item | Rat Royale | Sanatorium Secrets |
|---|---|---|
| Official RTP | 96.52% | 96.47% |
| Top wild multipliers | Up to 100x (standard), up to 500x (rat king) | Up to 8x (1×4 wilds), up to 64x (2×4 wilds) |
| Free spins trigger | 3, 4 or 5 scatters, 10 spins, three variants | 3 scatters, 6 spins plus 2 per extra scatter; Super Free Spins with a super scatter |
| Maximum win printed | Not stated | Not stated as a figure |
The Sanatorium Secrets page was first published on 24 May 2026, according to its structured data. The difference in RTP is only 0.05 percentage points, worth ₱5 per ₱10,000 staked, our calculation. Larger multipliers usually mean more of the return is concentrated in rare big hits, but neither page states a volatility rating, so that is general slot behaviour, not a measured fact about these two games.
What should a player in the Philippines keep in mind?
The PAGCOR responsible gaming page lists persons under 21 years of age among those prohibited, together with government officials and employees and people in the National Database of Restricted Persons, and links to a self-exclusion request service. Pragmatic's own site carries an 18+ age gate, but that is the provider's global notice; in the Philippines the 21+ rule applies. Use the free demo on the official page to learn the features before staking, set a peso limit per session, and remember that a new release's hype does not change its RTP.
